Or maybe this is just an alternate world where MAO was written in the 1980s ..
Mao is a story about time travel like Inuyasha so there is that
🤔
Nah this anime was probably made in the 90's then it got animated in 2022
Which one are u talking about ? The original Urusei Yatsura adaptation started in 1982 ..
Lum also throws volumes of Maison Ikkoku at 18:47. In theory Ataru could own these though, as they were created during the 80s, concurrently with Urusei Yatsura. Because that's something Rumiko Takahashi could just do, draw two weekly manga in parallel.
And I only realized after reading it on Twitter, but the whole English lesson at the beginning of the episode is just a plot summary of Rin-ne
She did that a lot, I do believe at one point she was writing a one-shot or co-labing on one while doing 2 others. Afterall, most tropes and anime styles are often homage to her works. She's one of the founders of modern manga/anime. I mean, her earliest works have still stood the test of time, and most mangakas have at least a fair grasp on how much her works are beloved.. It would be hard to find something or some work she at least didn't influence. Even indirectly.
But why didn't it get an anime adaptation that long
They forgot to update the character designs. Anime chicks of 2000 have mountain size tits.
Yeah I also would enjoy this more with jiggly boobas
Actually the 2000 anime girls have more big oppai while this looks like it came out from the 80's or 90's
Geezz don't. This size is perfect
Mandela-Effect, Time-Travel, and other such phenomena make it all possible without being a paradox.
*eagerly waiting on the next 77 parts*
Some people really don't catch on to your humor, though. -__-;
Dude she fcking love time travel and isekai shit. It's obvious they gonna add it.
been a while since i last saw anyone using a ranma 1/2 pfp even through i really don't remember him ever wearing a sombrero still cute though
They did have that time travelling street in Mao and the Bone-Eater Well in Inuyasha...guess that means that WS is now a newspaper, instead of a manga-magazine 😁
They've also showed game references in the OP of her as an old game boy RPG but the game boy hadn't come til a decade after the original anime. I'd say books are an easter egg in the animation of her other work and not a big deal. Anime tend to do to do that often or sometimes throw in the characters from other anime hidden in their episodes at times. In the original anime the
They made Sakura look like she had good intent in the episode when the original anime the spirits haunting her she intentionally offloads on Ataru at the suggestion of Cherry and doesn't end up exorcising them. That's really the big difference from the original as well as like cramming 3 episodes of content into a single episode. For the most part the original story could still work in a modern setting though.
he also has a smart phone in the op where he is also using what i presume is tinder lol.
Doesn't he have a smartphone? I think the time period just changed 😅
Interesting
He's also using a smartphone.
Pretty sure that it now takes place a bit more recently, ergo the smartphones in the OP.
Nah, the smartphones were part of a dream sequence - see Ataru waking up by the end of it. The anime itself still uses corded phones.
Dreams are reality, and reality is the dream.
Lum's got an electrifying embrace. ;)
Lol, you can just tell Sawashiro Miyuki is having so much fun in the role of Sakura.
Just get rubber clothes or your live is short.
I wouldn't mind getting electrocuted by lum seeing her bikini outfit is more than enough hehe
Doesn't that amplify electric shocks??
Ok this anime is getting good I really love the adult jokes here like they thought the neighbors thought they were f*cking upstairs but he's acting getting electricuted
Never get Lum angry.
Getting to held the hands of Lum is the best feeling ever and the guy thought lum just wanted to help his hand but Lum is actually testing her ability to electricuted that guy lol
She reminds me of Misaka who also has electric abilities.
Here you go. ZAP!
I wouldn't mind feeling her spark of love, but her jealously would be electrifying, more so than a certain type of eel.
Kamiya-san is using his Yato voice a little bit too much too, Idk how many times I heard "Hiiiiyooooriiii" instead of "Shinoooobuuu" 😂
I thought so too.
VA was having a ton of fun with the role.
Also thought having Uchida Maaya as Shinobu was interesting. She doesn't sound like... you know the other roles.
The humour is definitely dated but for me Its a really good show to watch still. Maybe its just the nostalgia but I love this and thankful that it will have 46 episodes.
That's 46 weeks! That means it'll take 10 and a half months... Almost a year to fully air!?!
YEEESSSS!!!! Maybe I'll watch the old anime as well by then. I'm so into this anime. I'm so glad it got a remake.
💔
Yes they actually smooched and in front of Shinobu it was heartless -_-
But Shinobu still comes back for more. She is definitely a masochist.
He got buried using those class desk chair
💔
😍
🥰
His friends thought they were doing ecchi stuff upstairs and when they see what's going on it looks exactly what they heard lol
Okay, so in this chapter Ataru is reading an issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday, which on the cover shows the manga MAO - which is Rumiko Takahashi’s current manga. In fact, he’s specifically reading the issue which MAO debuted in.
This means that a guy in the late 1970s-early 1980s is reading a manga from 2019, which indicates that Urusei Yatsura is a series that transcends time and space itself. In this multi-part essay I will discuss the various ramifications this paradox gives us, including how Ataru can use his knowledge of the future to (1/78)
